Anya Morrison - U13 - won the 1200 metres A race in 4.03. Rosie Milligan - U13 - won the 1200 metres B race in a new PB of 4.30. Sophie Bath - U15 - was second in the 200 metres B race. Sam Bryan - U15 - was fifth in the 800 metres A race. Sam was also well placed in a number of throwing events but we have no details at the moment.

It was very windy on Friday evening for the North District Track and Field Champs at Inverness but, despite the poor conditions, there were some outstanding performances from East Sutherland athletes.
Anya Morrison - U13 - judged the pace perfectly in her 1500 metres and produced a superb change of pace in the final 100 metres to take the gold medal in a time of 5 mins and 16 secs.
Rosie Milligan was also in fine form in the same race and finished fifth with yet another PB of 5 mins and 44 secs.
Alyth Gollan - U15 - battled hard to keep control of her 1500 metres and eventually broke clear to take gold in a new PB of 5 mins and 17 secs.
Rachel Ross showed tremendous resilience in the same race and finished strongly in fourth place. Her time of 5 mins and 23 secs was a huge PB and would have given her the silver medal in the Under 17 girls' final.
Constance Nankivell raced in the combined U20 and Senior Women's 1500 metres and claimed gold by a considerable margin in a time of 4 mins and 47 secs.
Conditions at Inverness had improved considerably for Day 2 of the North District Champs and Sophie Bath - U15 - took full advantage by taking silver in the 300 metres in a new PB of 46.21 secs.
Sam Bryan - U15 - had a very busy day on Saturday, finishing fourth in the Javelin, fifth in the Discus and eighth in the 800 metres.
Catriona Scott - U17 - worked hard for a sixth place finish in her 800 metres. John D.
23/04/2018 ESAC athletes produced some quality performances this weekend at a variety of venues.
Constance Nankivell made a welcome return to racing on Saturday at the Balmoral 5K and took fourth place in a top quality Senior Ladies' race with a time of 18.33
Catriona Scott was in fine form in the 2.5K race for Secondary Schools and finished strongly to claim sixth place.
In the Balmoral 10K, Ewan Scott acted as the perfect pace maker for Audrey who ran superbly to finish just outside the medals in the Vet 50 category.
The action moved closer to home on Sunday as Fraser Roach again showed good form to finish second Senior Man in the Portmahomack 10K.
The first YDL track and field meeting took place at Inverness on Sunday and, despite the wet and windy conditions, the following athletes represented Team North with distinction:
Sam Bryan - Under 15 - had a really busy day, finishing 2nd. in the Shot, 4th. in the Javelin, 6th. in the 800 and 4th. in the Relay.
Alyth Gollan judged her pace perfectly to win the 1500 metres for Under 15 girls by a considerable margin.
Sophie Bath - Under 15 - was a fraction outside of her PB when finishing second in the 300 metres.
Rosie Milligan showed great composure in the 1200 metres for U13 girls and came away with a huge PB.
16/04/2018 There were several excellent performances at the recent Mini Meet at Inverness.
Sam Bryan (Under 15) produced two PB's - 46.5 in the 300 metres and 2.25 in the 800 metres. Rosie Milligan also did well to improve her PB in the Under 13 girls' 800 to 2.50. Sophie Bath (Under 15) got her season off to a flying start, recording a new PB of 47.3 in the 300 metres.
Anya Morrison was competing for her second claim club (Pitreavie) in the National 800 metre Relay Champs this weekend and came away with a superb Team Bronze.
Excellent news from Caithness, where Alasdair Coupar won the Beinn Ratha hill race. We are all delighted to see Alasdair racing again following injury problems.
25/03/2018 There has been some outstanding performances from the following ESAC athletes this week: Nerys Law produced an excellent new PB of 1 hour and 40 minutes in today's Liverpool Half Marathon.
On Thursday, Anya Morrison won the Sutherland Primary Schools' Champs, with Rosie Milligan second, Hope Warner-MacIntosh third and Layla Morrison fifth. In the boys' race, victory went to Riley Beavan-Whitty, with Andrew Mackay second and James Forbes third.
Earlier in the week, Jemima Bath took the bronze medal in the Ross-shire mid week series and followed this up with a fine 8th. place finish in the Ross-shire Primary Champs.
11/03/2018 Congratulations to ESAC runners Anya Morrison and Rosie Milligan on their excellent performances in the North of Scotland Primary Schools' Cross Country Champs at Forres on Saturday. Anya won the individual gold medal and, with Rosie placing fifth, Mikayla Mackay 10th. and Hope Warner-Macintosh 12th., the combined scores of these four athletes resulted in a brilliant team gold for Dornoch Primary School.
26/02/18 Congratulations to Anya Morrison on another outstanding performance in the Scottish National Cross Country Champs on Saturday. Anya judged her pace perfectly to take a bronze medal in the Under 13 girls' race. Rosie Milligan also ran well in the same race but, due to technical problems with the timing mechanism, Scottish Athletics have been unable to publish finishing positions for the majority of the Under 13 girls.

Rebecca Nankivell and I cleared a considerable amount of snow at Dornoch this afternoon so, at this moment, we have a safe training area for runners of all ages for Saturday morning. However, should there be more snow and freezing conditions overnight, all our hard work may be in vain. I plan to be at Dornoch at 9 a.m. on Saturday morning and will contact Roxy then so watch out for a message from Roxy that will confirm things one way or another. Hope to see you all at Dornoch tomorrow.

Anya Morrison got things off to a superb start by taking gold in the Under 13 girls' race and, with Rosie Milligan (12th.) and Angela Nankivell (22nd.), ESAC claimed an outstanding team bronze. In the Under 13 boys' race, Sam Bryan finished strongly in tenth place. Sophie Bath and Rachel Ross produced their best results of the season in the Under 15 girls' race. They finished just two seconds apart in 6th.and 7th. places respectively. Catriona Scott also showed excellent endurance as she finished 5th. in the Under 17 girls' race. Keir Beaton and Fraser Roach produced one of the best races of the day in the Under 20 category. They systematically dismantled all the opposition with an impressive diplay of sustained pace and, with Keir taking gold, closely followed by Fraser with the silver, it was a remarkable result for ESAC. Constance Nankivell completed the medal haul for the day by claiming the individual silver in the equivalent race for Under 20 women. Audrey Scott and David Bryan both ran well in top quality Senior races. Apologies to both - I have yet to receive the ratified results. 29/10/2017 Congratulations to Anya Morrison, Leah MacDonald and Rosie Milligan on their excellent performance in the Scottish National Primary Schools' Relay Championships held at Grangemouth on Saturday. The three girls (representing Dornoch Primary School) combined superbly to finish just outside the medals in fourth place. 25/10/2017 ESAC hosted the North Cross Country Relays at Edderton on Saturday. Our Junior Girls took an excellent team bronze thanks to fine performances from Anya Morrison (Under 13), Alyth Gollan (Under 15) and Catriona Scott (Under 17). Anya's time of 9.27 for the 2.4K course was the second fastest of the day for a Junior Girl of any age. Eoghann Gollan (Under 17) recorded the fastest time of the day in the Junior Boys' race with an impressive 8.13. He was well supported by Tom Simco (Under 13) and Sam Bryan (Under 15). The 4K course for adults was quite demanding but, once again, our Senior Ladies' team of Constance Nankivell, Sheila Gollan and Audrey Scott combined superbly to finish fourth. A number of ESAC athletes ran as guests on Saturday and there were encouraging performances from Brogar Oliver-Jones, Jemima Bath and Sophie Bath in the Junior races and Ruairdh Oliver-Jones, David Bryan and Struan Oliver-Jones in the Senior Men's race.

18/09/2017 he following East Sutherland runners performed well at the Invercharron Games on Saturday: Ross Gollan was first man home, followed by Ross Bannerman in third place. The Junior race was won by Sam Bryan with Tom Simco and Archie Ryder placed equal second. Alyth Gollan won the race for girls, with Nikki Bryan second.
03/09/2017 Congratulations to Sam Roberts on his excellent performance in today's Cardiff 10K. Despite the wet and windy conditions he recorded a new PB of 34.37. Nerys Law also ran well in the same event, finishing just outside her PB with a time of 48.45.

20/08/2017 Congratulations to Anya Morrison on her excellent performance at the Scottish Track and Field Champs on Saturday. Anya took a superb Bronze in the 1500 metres for Under 13 girls with a new PB of 5.07 and, as a first year in this age group, will be able to compete in the same category again next year.
13/07/2017 Congratulations to Blair Mackay on his victory in the Inverness Park Run on Saturday. His winning time of 16.52 was a PB for the Inverness course. Ross Bannerman was also in good form at the weekend as he took on the 25 mile Great Wilderness Challenge. His finishing time of 3 hours and 7 minutes was a new PB for this gruelling event.
24/07/2017 East Sutherland athletes produced a series of excellent results this weekend. Sam Roberts won a multi terrain 10K in North Wales on Sunday and was rewarded with a brand new pair of runnng shoes. I hope they are not hill running shoes!! Blair Mackay was in good form at the Brora 10K, taking third overall and first local male. Fiona Stewart ran well to take first Vet 40 as did Lillian Macrae, who was first local female. In the same race, there were good performances from David Bryan, Robbie Murray, Audrey Scott and Tracy Murray. Rosie Milligan was top junior girl from ESAC, winning the 5K race with training partner, Anna Falkiewicz, taking second place. Rebecca Young was next to finish for ESAC and clearly enjoyed the scenic, undulating Brora course. Nikki Bryan judged her pace perfectly to finish third in the 3K and George Milligan ran strongly throughout to finish one place ahead of mum Wendy.
02/07/2017 Junior runners from ESAC dominated the 3 mile Fun Run at Tain on Wednesday evening. Eleven year old Anya Morrison won the girls' race by a huge margin, finishing second overall from over 120 starters. There were also fine performances from Rosie Milligan, Layla Morrison, Eva Morrison, Violet Gunn and Juliette Gunn. Sam Bryan finished second in the boys' race (third overall) followed by Ruairdh Oliver-Jones, Lewis Fraser and Brogar Oliver-Jones. ESAC runners also produced excellent results in the Tain Gala 10K with Blair Mackay claiming fourth place in a top quality men's race. Fraser Roach was next to finish for ESAC, followed by Nigel Jones and David Bryan. Rosie Nankivell, competing in her first ever 10K, ran superbly to take second place in the ladies' race, followed by Audrey Scott who finished second F50.
25/06/2017 It was good to see the following younger athletes from ESAC competing for Team North today in the YDL event at Inverness: Anya Morrison - U13 - 800. Rosie Milligan - U13 - 1200. Sam Bryan - U13 - 1500, Shot and Javelin. Sophie Bath - U15 - 200 and 300. Alyth Gollan - U15 - 1500.
The results have not yet been published but I can confirm (from my watch) some excellent times and performances. Anya won her 800 in 2.35. Sam won his 1500 in a new PB of 5.02. Alyth set a new PB in her 1500 of 5.22. I will forward further results as soon as they are available.
Congratulations to Constance Nankivell on her excellent performance in the Scottish 3K Champs on Friday evening in Glasgow. She produced a new PB of 10.08 to take fifth place in the Under 20 Championship which was an improvement of 16 seconds on her previous best.
Earlier in the week, a large group of ESAC athletes travelled to the North Schools' Champs at Inverness and came away with seven individual medals. Group A: 1500 metres - Keir Beaton - Gold Group B: 800 metres - Eoghann Gollan - Silver. Group B: 800 metres - Catriona Scott - Bronze. Group D: 1500 metres - Alyth Gollan - Silver. Group D: 1500 metres - Kenneth Patience - Bronze. Group D: 200 metres - Sophie Bath - Bronze. Group P: 600 metres - Anya Morrison - Silver.
The results from Sunday's RAM League at Inverness have not been published yet but I can confirm two excellent performances based on my own watch. Andrew Macrae - U11 - ran superbly in the 800 metres to record a new PB of 2.58. Sam Bryan - U13 - judged his pace perfectly to win the 1500 metres in a new PB of 5.08.
Congratulations to the following East Sutherland athletes who performed so well in the North District Champs at the weekend: Three medals for Sam Bryan (U13) - Javelin Gold, Shot Silver and 1500 Bronze with a new PB of 5.10 Double Gold for Constance Nankivell (U20) and two new PB's of 4.46 in the 1500 and 2.19 in the 800. Gold for Anya Morrison (U13) and a Championship Best Performance of 5.13 in the 1500. EAST Sutherland athletes had the opportunity to compete on the road, track and at cross country last weekend, with events taking place at Balmoral, Kirkcaldy, Aberdeen and Portmahomack. As North League Under 17 Champions, Constance Nankivell and Fraser Roach were invited to compete in the prestigious Balmoral road races. They decided to run in the adult category and this meant competing against experienced International runners of all ages. They clearly enjoyed the challenge as they produced excellent results with Constance taking sixth place in the 5k and Fraser twelfth in the 10k. Audrey Scott and Calum MacIntyre also did well as over 1500 runners completed the demanding 10k course. Anya Morrison is the current Under 11 North League Champion and was in a class of her own as she dominated the race for Primary School girls at Balmoral to finish well clear of more than 300 starters. At the age of seven, her younger sister Layla produced an exceptional performance to finish inside the top twenty in the same race. The following day, Anya confirmed her potential by winning a top quality 1200 metre track race at Aberdeen with a superb time of four minutes exactly. Catriona Scott elected to compete in the Secondary Schools’ race at Balmoral and, in a very closely contested encounter, came away with a fine eighth place finish. Rosie Milligan produced a top class performance to finish ninth in the P6 race at the Scottish Primary Schools’ Cross Country Championships at Kirkcaldy on Saturday. Chloe Barnsby finished strongly to take 31st in the P7 race. On Sunday, Rosie finished first junior girl in the Portmahomack fun run and, with Annie Nankivell second, Nikki Bryan fourth and Olivia Bannerman sixth, the East Sutherland girls’ team were unbeatable. Sam Bryan ran extremely well to take second place in the boys’ race and was well supported by Cameron Gordon and Brogar Oliver-Jones. In the 10k race, Ross Bannerman led the way for the East Sutherland men’s team by finishing second, followed by Ruairdh Oliver-Jones, David Bryan and Nigel Jones. Lauren McCulloch took gold in the equivalent race for women.
